All Sturgeon in the Columbia River are White Sturgeon. These monster fish pray on the bottom of the river while migrating from Bonneville Dam to Astoria OR. We follow them throughout the year. Sturgeon are bottom feeders so when fishing for them you want to anchor your boat, then plunk fresh bait on the bottom of the Columbia River. Catching several Sturgeon over 100 pounds is to be expected from April through September.
